IEEE EDUCATION SOCIETY MALAYSIA ACTIVITies IN 2017:

i) NLP WORKSHOP FOR PT3 & SPM WITH A THEME ” EXPLORASI MINDA MENEMPA KEJAYAAN”

NLP workshop for PT3 and SPM has been held at the Al-Hidayah room seminar on February 4, 2017. This workshop is jointly organized by Centre for System Engineering Studies (CSES), UiTM and IEEE EduSoc Malaysia together with PIBG Sekolah Menengah Seksyen 7 Shah Alam. The theme of the workshop is “Mind Explorations Creates Excellence”. A total of 22 prospective students who will sit for PT3 and SPM have been joined the workshop. The workshop session has been delivered by Dr. Mahanijah, Mr. Mohamad Ramadan, Mrs. RD Aidifitrina and Ms. Izyan Hazwani. The briefing began with the introduction on NLP, NLP communication model, VAKOG and 3A.

ii)  IEEE EduSoc AWARD for UNITEN FINAL YEAR PROJECT

On 24th February 2017, the IEEE Education Society (EduSoc) Malaysia Chapter has sponsored an Award of Excellence for UNITEN Final Year Project Competition to encourage students involving with STEM. The Award was won by Mhd Naser Jebreil Ahmad, with his project titled “IoT-based Intelligent Home Automation System”. Winner was awarded RM200 cash. The Judges for IEEE EduSoc Award were Dr. Mahanijah Md Kamal and Assoc. Prof. Rosni Abu Kassim while the award was presented by Assoc. Prof. Rosni Abu Kassim. The judging criteria include novelty, creativity and practicality.

iii)  ONE DAY WORKSHOP: PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER: INTERVIEW AND ESSAY WRITING

A workshop on professional interview and essay writing for Professional Engineer (Ir.) certification was jointly organized by the Centre for System Engineering Studies (CSES), Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) and IEEE Education Society (EduSoc) Malaysia on 28 February 2017 at Al-Haytham Seminar room. The workshop started with an opening speech by the Dean of FKE, Prof. Dr. Mohd Nasir Taib. This is followed by a session conducted by Assoc. Prof Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farid Abidin who share knowledge and experience on how to pass the professional interview. The speaker also shared the relevant tips and skills on the essay writing assessment to 33 participants from FKE who were interested to pursue the Professional Engineer status. This fruitful and enlightening workshop was found to be very informative to the participants. The faculty will plan further workshops to encourage and assist its staff to pursue the professional engineer status.

iv) 2017 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEED2017) with a theme “Embracing IOT, Enhancing Engineering Education”  on 9th – 10th November 2017 is jointly organized by Centre of System Engineering Studies (CSES), Engineering & Technical Education Research Group (EnTER) together with Kanazawa Technical College (KTC)  . For more details, please click here.
